A touch pink, this moschofilero stands out for the juxtaposition of its delicate florality and stony, salty minerality. The combination is mouthwatering, firm without being weighty, bringing to mind an image of Mantinia’s cool, stony moonscape with flowering peach trees. It will make an elegant companion to light white fish.

A racy white, with crisp and pure-tasting flavors of green apple, grapefruit and pear, joined by notes of jellied quince. The firm, focused finish offer honey cream accents. Drink now through 2018.

88 pts. Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate: June, 2012
The 2011 MOSCHOFILERO is pure and persistent, with a hint of grass and a surprisingly nice, mouth coating aspect early in its life. There is some steel underneath, too. Coming in at just 11% alcohol, this still seems surprisingly deep and solid. It is, not so surprisingly, refreshing and invigorating. Most of all, it is delicious. As it warms up, the fruit emerges and becomes quite juicy. This is a wine that is easy to like; the more it sits there, the more you want. Call it “more-ish” as in “I want more.” If it doesn’t turn into anything complex or the like or hold overly long at peak — well, that’s not its job. Take it on its own terms. Drink now–2014.
