Inky ruby. Blackberry, candied violet, sassafras, bitter chocolate and smoky herbs on the nose. Dense and sweet but with tangy, integrated acidity energizing the dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors. Finishes with sweet tannins and good juicy length.

The 2009 Shiraz was matured in French and American oak, 10% new. Deep garnet purple colored, it displays notes of blackberry compote, eucalyptus, anise, cinnamon and cardamom. Medium-full bodied, there’s medium to high acid and a medium level of grainy tannins to support the ample flesh, finishing long. Fresh and fruity now, it should continue to keep to 2014+.
