Slightly firm, with dried cherry, currant and tobacco notes. Dusty tannins on the finish. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now.

With all the press on the 2007 Rhônes, it seems as though the 2006s will be completely overshadowed. Yet for price and sheer drinkability, the Givaudan is hard to beat, even in an off vintage. Medium-bodied, with great structure — this wine hasn’t met a match on a dinner table that it hasn’t liked. Incredibly versatile, it works just as well with fish as it does with steak — and just about everything in between! Lush black fruit, with gentle spice and minerality, this is a winner every time!
