Bold and oaky, this has the warmth and wood scent of a Bourbon, along with cooler tones of cassis and violets. It’s smoky and peppery with tannin. For roast beef.

Chateau Roylland exhibits the pedigree of Saint-Émilion’s finest terroir. Dense, blackish blackberry with a purple color, Roylland’s 2005 boasts an intense and powerful nose, ample new oak and a very rich, generous palate. Warm and mouthfilling, this is a complex wine showing alluring fruit flavors and artful balance. Lovely black cherry and spice on the nose give way to a harmonious interplay between succulent fruit and elegant tannins, all of which carry through on the long, graceful finish. Serve with grilled steak or braised short ribs.

Intense and powerful with new oak and black and blue fruit. Harmonious and ready to drink now or allow it live in your cellar for 5–10 years. Pop the cork tonight and enjoy it with braised short ribs and baby carrots.
