Stephen Boyd: September 15, 2009
A fruit-driven Cabernet that is big on spice, earthiness and soft tannins, Step by Step is perfect for pairing with burgers, steaks and pot roast. It is aged in stainless steel tanks, which allows the complexity of the fruit to shine without the influence of oak. Hints of black pepper and dark fruits balance a lush, heavy body and provide a creamy, lasting finish. The winery is Fair Trade Certified and works to provide health care for its growers and winery workers in the Maule Valley region of Chile.

Blackberry, currants and whispers of bell pepper leap from the glass in yet another great value from Argentina. For those looking for a more food-friendly Cabernet, this wine is a great alternative to the heavily-oaked and alcoholic examples from California.
