Alan Hermann: August 30, 2011
Generally, Sauvignon Blanc brings to mind wines from France, California, New Zealand and even South Africa. This light straw colored wine is a pleasant surprise from the Mendoza region of Argentina. It has tropical fruit notes followed by tart green apple and honeydew melon on the midpalate. There is a slight lime and mineral finish. This wine is crisp with bold acidity, and pairs well with pasta tossed with shrimp and asparagus.

Very forward, with tropical and passion fruit introductions followed by figs and melons, with orange blossom notes that persist through the finish. Serve it with just the right chill. Matches well with stuffed artichokes, buffalo mozzarella and basil, angel hair pasta tossed with fresh shrimp and peas, and cold chicken on a baguette with honey mustard and romaine lettuce.
