Eric Zubricky: February 2, 2011
This Sauvignon Blanc from Cévennes, France is an absolute powerhouse for the price! Initial whiffs indicate aromas of herbs and lemon grass with just a touch of juicy grapefruit. Layered flavors of tropical fruit, limes and fresh-cut grass fight for the lead, while a subtle touch of minerality and salinity backs up the acidic structure. The finish is juicy and satisfying, with an underlying orange blossom zest and a dusting of white pepper. This wine is a perfect complement for seafood, preferably raw, on the half-shell and served with wasabi caviar.

This refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is hand-harvested and tank fermented to preserve the crisp fruit flavor. The result is an intensely flavored and rich wine with bright tropical fruits in the nose and a well-balanced palate.
