The aromas may be black, as if smelling the smoke and funk of tannin, but the flavors are fresh red cherry. And the cherry remains bright, concentrated, lasting through the bitter, mineral tannins, sustaining fruit flavors past their grip. A soft and tangy McLaren Vale red, built for a party around the grill.

Produced from 65-year old vines, the 2001 Shiraz is a full-bodied, dense, thick, chewy example with plenty of tar, black currant, blackberry, and earthy aromas as well as flavors. It is a big, chunky, mouthfilling Shiraz to enjoy now and over the following 7–8 years.

Big full-body Shiraz. Deep rich black fruits make up this very concentrated wine. Hints of pepper, chocolate and Tabasco round it out. This wine will keep you coming back for more.
