We love the wines of importer Eric Solomon, especially those of winemaker Jean-Marc Lafage.

This new Chardonnay from the Roussillon in southern France is called La Colline Aux Fossiles, or "Hill of Fossils". The vines grow in a gravelly vineyard that is indeed full of marine fossils (kind of like Chablis in that respect). Delicious, balanced, and with just a touch of oak, this would be delicious with summer meals; lobster rolls, grilled salmon or chicken spiedies, etc.
