The Fair is over, it’s getting darker earlier, parents are thinking about getting “back to school” clothes for the kids…Summer is ‘setting’.  I’m not saying it’s over, so please don’t panic.  There is still plenty of nice days left before the big chill comes.  But nights have been a bit cooler and with that change brings the return of red wines which may have taken a back seat to Roses and crisp whites in the last couple of months.

A classic wine that will bring satisfaction now and well into the colder days to come, the Chateau de Marjolet Cotes Du Rhone Laudun 2011 Villages has arrived. This wine is a more complex and smoother version of the Marjolet CDR table wine.  The Villages version has a bold aroma of black cherry, currant, clove and anise.  Your first sip will reinforce the lovely dark fruit and spice nuances with a strong licorice note in the finish. This wine is a beauty for enjoying a fire on a crisp evening whether it is by a backyard fire pit or a inside by the fireplace.

The Chateau de Marjolet is a natural pairing choice for lamb, whether it is a roast leg, grilled chops or a Mediterranean style stew.
