If you are looking for a good everyday Cabernet that isn’t too thin or tastes like it came out of a chemists’ lab, try the 2012 Cedar Springs Cabernet Sauvignon.
At first glance you’ll be drawn in because of the deep, dark, black cherry color. The nose draws you in with bright plumb and fig, and blueberry jam with hints of Vanilla and baking spice. On the palate there is a bit of licorice and a strong presence of dark berry fruit.
This is an easy drinker that has enough complexity and fine balance to serve to any of your guests. It will work well at casual barbeques as well as formal affairs. As for me, this wine was made for grilled turkey burgers with sharp cheddar cheese and chili sauce.
