Today is in the high eighties and the humidity is still up there. Even though September is right around the corner, the weather is telling us that a light, refreshing white wine is just the ticket we need to quench our thirst in this steam bath heat. The 2012 Domaine Du Tariquet Classic can answer that call and is a remarkable treat for the $5.99 price tag.

This wine is from the Gascogne region of France and is made up of 45% Ugni Blanc, 35% Colombard, 10% Sauvignon Blanc, and 10% Gros Manseng. Medium-bodied, dry and yet very refreshing with ample fruit, the Tariquet Classic is a delicious warm weather quencher and an excellent wine to pair with seafood (lime shrimp shish kabobs come to mind). The Tariquet Classic has fruit notes of grapefruit, tangerine with pear, green plum and apricot. There is also a touch of ginger spice to keep the fruit somewhat in check. Stop by our store and pick up a case for your Labor Day festivities.
