Critical Acclaim

ST93 Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Mar/Apr 2013

"Pale gold. Nectarine, pear and lemon curd on the nose, with complicating vanilla and mineral qualities gaining strength with air. Broad and fleshy but impressively focused, offering juicy orchard fruit flavors and a bitter note of citrus pith. Precise, dry and nervy on the strikingly long, penetrating finish, with its sexy honeysuckle and ginger notes." (93 pts.)

RP96 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 30th Dec 2016

"One of the most flamboyant, downright sexy wines in the lineup is unquestionably the 2011 Condrieu la Doriane. Possessing a light gold color and crazy notes of caramelized peach, brioche and floral characteristics, it offers incredible purity and elegance, while packing serious amounts of fruit and texture. I love it, and would drink bottles anytime over the coming 2–3 years." (96 pts.)

RP96 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 29th Dec 2013

"Looking at the top cuvee, the 2011 Condrieu La Doriane, which was bottled in June of this year, spent 9 months in 100% new French oak and comes mostly from the Chatillonne and Colombier lieux-dits. It is a brilliant white that dishes out loads of mineral-tinged white currants, buttered apricots, flowers and toast to go with medium to full-bodied richness and depth, great acidity and a blockbuster finish. It can age, but I’d lean toward drinking bottles over the coming 3–5 years at most." (96 pts.)

SP93 Wine Spectator Oct 15, 2013

"Takes a broad approach, with buttered brioche, creamed melon, glazed pear and warm macadamia nut notes all gliding seamlessly through the fennel-tinged finish. A gorgeous, hedonistic version, featuring a flattering mouthfeel. Drink now through 2015. 1,666 cases made." (93 pts.)

The French did not invent winemaking. They simply perfected it. For centuries, France has been producing wines that inspire poetry, awe, and wonder; wines that blur the lines between nature, craftsmanship, cuisine and art. These are the wines that inspired cultures around the globe to follow in France’s footsteps, planting Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, Grenache, Merlot, Semillon and more.

Yet as often as they are emulated, the magic of their terroirs can never be duplicated. You may taste Cabernet from around the world, but perhaps none as elegant and regal as Bordeaux. You may try Pinot Noir or Chardonnay from various climates, but none with the earth-bound soul and ethereal reach of Burgundy.
