  3. G.D. Vajra Nebbiolo Claré J.C.

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#58028

    VN92+92+ pts. - Vinous - May 2022
The 2021 Nebbiolo Claré J.C. is a deep, translucent ruby color. It wafts up with a dazzling mix of crushed violets, lavender and blackberries tinged with a hint of sour citrus. This splashes across the palate, coming across as energetic and playful in nature, as tart wild berries are motivated by zest acidity, while leaving a coating of minerals and liquid stone in their wake. The 2021 finishes with a bitter twang and crunchiness, like biting into a raw cranberry, yet also remarkably fresh. The Claré J.C. is produced from younger Nebbiolo vines using about 20% whole-cluster fruit to create a throwback-styled wine, one that emphasizes a lighter, more energetic and slightly off-dry character. Enjoy it with a minute chill, but not cold.
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 11th Aug 2022
This wine is a stroke of genius and is quickly becoming an icon of the entry-level category of Italian wines. The G.D. Vajra 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo Claré J.C. is all Nebbiolo sourced from various sites with different soil types that are all specific to the Langhe. The wine is luminous and bright with lots of bright cherry and raspberry. My sample showed some very mild trapped CO2, but it only served to create more lift and energy. (Monica Larner)

Delicately scented, this offers aromas suggesting spring blossom and white stone fruit. Made with organic grapes, the linear, savory palate offers juicy white peach, ripe yellow pear and fennel seed alongside tangy acidity that gives it a clean finish. (Kerin O’Keefe)

  5. Eisacktal Valle Isarco Pinot Grigio

    2021 / 750 ml. | Item#57839

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2022
So clean and so crisp, the 2021 Pinot Grigio lifts up with notes of freshly sliced yellow apple, hints of lime zest and gingery spice. This is supple, with a balanced sweetness contrasted by zesty notes of lime and tart orchard fruit. It leaves a buzzing of residual acids that keeps the mouth watering while tapering off with medium length. This tension-filled Pinot Grigio is a total pleasure to taste.

  6. Tolaini Al Passo

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#58664

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022
The 2019 Al Passo is rich, ample and generous. Healthy dollops of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon turbocharge Sangiovese, adding depth and structure. Red-fleshed Sangiovese fruit emerges over time. The 2019 is deep and quite fleshy, but it also has a good deal of brightness to balance some of its more overt leanings. (Antonio Galloni)
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
An expressive, fruity style, this red features cherry, raspberry, plum, floral and wild herb aromas and flavors. Dense and lively, with a lingering aftertaste of red fruit and herbs. Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2023 through 2036. 10,000 cases made, 7,000 cases imported. (Bruce Sanderson)

  7. Rocca di Montegrossi Chianti Classico

    2020 / 750 ml. | Item#58747

    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2022
The 2020 Chianti Classico is striking. Bright, punchy and vibrant, the 2020 possesses terrific energy from start to finish. Sweet red-fleshed fruit, cedar, blood orange, spice and incense are front and center. The 2020 screams with character. Once again, Marco Ricasoli-Firidolfi has crafted an exceptional Chianti Classico that punches well above its weight. (Antonio Galloni)
