A delicious red that shows red plums, brambleberries, undergrowth, cedar and freshly cut herbs. Medium to full body, delightful, juicy tannins and a tangy, medium-long finish. A blend with equal measures of merlot, sangiovese, syrah and petit verdot. Drink now or hold.

  2. Sella & Mosca Cannonau de Sardegna Riserva

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53381

    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2021
The 2018 Cannonau di Sardegna Riserva is a very pretty yet understated effort that slowly comes to life in the glass with a display of fresh roses, cardamom and wild strawberries. This is silky and cool-toned with a pure display of mineral-tinged red and blue fruits, gaining an inner sweetness toward the close. Round tannins mix with residual acids to create a push and pull of tension through the finale, as this tapers off to a flourish of violets and spice. The 2018 is a wonderfully harmonious and pure expression of Cannonau.
    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 31, 2021

  3. Fattoria Le Pupille Morellino di Scansano

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#54152

    RP90+90+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th Nov 2020
The Fattoria le Pupille 2019 Morellino di Scansano is a bright and lively value wine that trusts its basic identity to cherry, dried raspberry and some wild bramble or rosemary essence. This is a lean and sprightly red wine that boats the freshness and intensity of Sangiovese along with the wild fruit and blue flower sensations that are most often associated with this mighty Tuscan grape. I could see a happy pairing with oven-cooked pasta or lasagna.
    VN8989 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2019 Morellino di Scansano is bright, perfumed and very easy to like. Drink this lithe, easygoing Morellino over the next few years, while the flavors remain bright. Dark red cherry, dried herbs and spice linger nicely.

  4. Giacomo Mori Chianti

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53441

    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2020
Mori’s 2018 Chianti is absolutely delicious. Bright and punchy, with tons of Sangiovese character, the 2018 bristles with energy. Sweet red cherry, white pepper, mint and chalk all race out of the glass in a translucent, mid-weight Chianti Classico that hits all the right notes. Floral and orange zest accents perk up the finish nicely. The 2018 is a fabulous wine by any measure.

  5. Uccelliera Rosso di Montalcino

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#54006

    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2020
Luminous dark red. Lively aromas of redcurrant, red licorice, and mint, plus complicating nuances of balsamic oils and violet. Juicy, spicy flavors of red berries and cherries are very deep and pure. In a cooler, low-fat style than usual for this wine, with harmonious acidity nicely extending the flavors on the long juicy and perfumed back end. A declassified Brunello, this is a really outstanding Rosso di Montalcino.
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 3/4/2021
The 2018 Rosso di Montalcino is noted by candied strawberry, fresh roses, and fennel. Fresh with bright red cherry and dried tea leaf, it offers a crisp structure, with lift and fine present tannins. If you enjoy more tension, the 2018 is perfect for early drinking 2021–2026.
