  1. Mt. Brave Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#56462

    VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon from Mt. Brave is fabulous. Inky, rich and explosive, the 2018 possesses tremendous depth and tons of personality. Graphite, blue/purplish fruit, blackberry jam, bittersweet chocolate, sage, lavender, menthol give the 2018 tons of character to match its explosive feel. The brooding, backward wine is going to need quite a bit of time to unwind, but boy is it gorgeous.
    JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 1/27/2021
Lots of cassis and black raspberry fruits as well as classic Mount Veeder notes of lavender, violets, bouquet garni, and rocky, mineral-like notes emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep, full-bodied mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, it has a plush, layered texture, beautiful tannins, a deep, concentrated mid-palate, and a great finish. Another head-turning wine from this label, it’s a candidate for the best Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon out there at the price point. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP95+95+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jan 2021
A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6.5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot, 1.5% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder was aged for 22 months in oak barrels, 82% new. Deep garnet-purple colored, it springs from the glass with vibrant crème de cassis, baked plums and Morello cherries scents, followed by nuances of sautéed herbs, clove oil, mocha and scorched earth. The full-bodied palate is densely laden with layers of black and blue fruits, sporting a rock-solid backbone of grainy tannins and great tension, finishing long and minerally. 6,753 cases were made.
    SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2021
This packs in lots of dense yet sleek blackberry, mulberry and black currant fruit flavors, while anise, sassafras and violet notes add range throughout. There’s plenty of structure embedded as well, though it tilts to the zesty, acid-driven side of the ledger, further enlivening the fruit. This has a serious oak treatment, but it’s very precise and fine-grained. For the cellar. Best from 2022 through 2038. 6,753 cases made.
    JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Tuesday, April 6, 2021
Blackberry and chili with hints of cloves and graphite. Bitter chocolate, too. Full-bodied, very linear and tight with intense tannins that lead you down the finish. Solid structure. Needs four or five years to open up. Better after 2025.

  2. Cliff Lede Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#56828

    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2021
Blended with 13% Merlot and smaller amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this is a focused and youthfully grippy wine, showing a fervor of succulent red- and black-currant and licorice. Thick, rich and intensely structured, it possesses a mineral-like earthiness of crushed rock and enduring structure.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 5th Nov 2020
Composed of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District charges out of the gate with exuberant scents of boysenberries, blackcurrant cordial and warm black plums plus touches of bay leaves, damp soil, pencil shavings and sandalwood. The medium to full-bodied palate is bold, expressive and open for business with bags of juicy black fruit flavors and a velvety texture, finishing with an earthy kick and a burst of freshness. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
    VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Stags Leap District) is another terrific wine in this range. Inky blue fruit, lavender, spice, licorice and new leather all jump out of the glass. Bright acids give the 2018 striking energy that drives through to the long, beautifully persistent finish. Hints of mocha, cedar and sweet pipe tobacco linger. (Antonio Galloni)
    JD9292 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 1/27/2021
Readers looking for a classic Cabernet Sauvignon that demonstrates the style of this great vintage should check out the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon from Cliff Lede Vineyards. Based on 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot, and the balance Malbec and Cabernet Franc, it reveals a deep purple color as well as a classic nose of cassis, blueberries, toasted spices, dried tobacco, and chocolate. Showing the vintage’s style on the palate with its medium to full-bodied richness and elegant seamless style, it can be drunk today or cellared for 10–15 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

  3. Lewelling Cabernet Sauvignon

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59011

    JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/21/2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is brilliant and has classic varietal aromas and flavors of cassis and dark currants as well as tobacco, cedar pencil, espresso, and spring flowers. With medium to full body, a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, silky tannins, and impeccable balance, it’s well worth seeking out and a multi-bottle purchase. I’d certainly be thrilled to have bottles in the cellar. It will have 15–20 years of longevity. (Jeb Dunnuck)

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#59037

    JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/4/2022
The base 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is terrific, and while I don’t know the price, I suspect it’s a great value. Deep purple-hued, with terrific mulled currant and blackberry fruits, it has lots of ripe herbal, chocolaty spice notes, full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. This is pure Napa Valley goodness to drink over the coming 10–15 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)
    RP9292 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Sep 2022
Notes of black cherries and cassis combine with cedar and vanilla on the nose of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that’s almost equal parts Howell Mountain, Mt. Veeder and Oakville. It’s medium to full-bodied, reasonably concentrated and already accessible, with plush tannins and a lingering finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a soft, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Succulent red cherry, plum, mocha, new leather and spice are nicely pushed forward, with floral notes that build in the glass. The Napa Valley Cabernet is a blend of fruit of estate vineyards in Oakville, Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder. (Antonio Galloni)

  5. Clos du Val Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#57914

    JS9393 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, March 3, 2022
This shows lots of ripe dark and blue fruit on the nose, together with some leafy character. Notes of spices, cedar wood and walnuts, too. Medium-to full-bodied with firm tannins and a fresh, juicy-fruit profile. Polished and smooth with an array of succulent berries and blue flowers in the aftertaste. Drinkable now, but better in two or three years. Try after 2024.
    SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jul 31, 2022
A sleek, polished style, with cassis and plum notes driving through, carried by a graphite spine and backed by tobacco, briar and savory notes. Drink now through 2030. 18,398 cases made. (James Molesworth)
    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 5/1/2022
This is a well-balanced red with small amounts of other varieties like Merlot. Spicy, it shows well-integrated oak and tannin within a taut, elegant and lengthy palate of blueberry and black currant. (Virginie Boone)
    RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon includes small proportions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec and was aged 16 months in 44% new French oak. For entry-level Napa, it’s a solid effort, marrying ripe cherries and hints of cassis with gentle notes of sage and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it’s soft enough to drink now, yet it shows enough velvety tannins to age at least through 2030. Nicely done. (Joe Czerwinski)

Lovely aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, ground spice and anise. Full-bodied with fine, silky tannins. Juicy and vibrant on the palate with lovely balance and intensity. Drinking well now, but can definitely age. Drink or hold.
    SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2022
A textbook Napa Cabernet, with the vintage’s ripe, accessible cassis and blackberry puree profile on display, laced with singed vanilla and tobacco notes along the way. The generous finish lets a toasty edge play with the fruit. Drink now through 2031. 66,027 cases made. (James Molesworth)

Ripe and fresh, with sassafras, sweet bay leaf and savory details that lead into a juicy, compact core of cassis and dark plum compote flavors. The modestly toasty finish lets the fruit and savory sides play out, while acidity and tannins underscore everything. Drink now through 2032. 30,455 cases made. (James Molesworth)
