Critical Acclaim

RP92 Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate 6th Feb 2020

"The 2017 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard has a pale to medium ruby-purple color with scents of dried orange peel, cranberry, rose petal, potpourri, wild blackberries, black cherries, oolong tea leaves, tobacco and peppery notes. The light to medium-bodied palate is savory with firm, grainy tannins, good freshness and a spicy finish." (92 pts.)

VN94 Vinous Oct 2019

"The 2017 Pinot Noir Horseshoe Vineyard is one of the most distinctive wines in this range and also one of the Pinots that seemed to deal with the rigors of the growing season particularly well. Deep, mysterious and resonant, the 2017 has so much to say. Sweet tobacco, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and earthy notes meld into a core of black cherry and plum fruit. The 2017 has a distinctive savory quality, even though it was made with fully destemmed fruit." (94 pts.)

California

When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

United States

The United States now ranks fourth in the world in wine production behind, France, Italy, and Spain. While about 90% of that wine is produced in California, other states like Oregon, New York, and Washington are establishing themselves as prime spots for wine production, as well. Just about any variety of wine can be found in production somewhere in the United States.
