Katherine Able - Premier Wine & Spirits December 10, 2010
"Four Roses uses gentle maturation of each barrel in one-of-a-kind single story rack warehouses that allows their Bourbon to age gently inside the barrels in uniform fashion while remaining undisturbed throughout the years. Each bottle is has a hand written label noting the warehouse location of each barrel. Aromas of maple and dried cherries delight the senses, along with cinnamon spice. On the palate one can taste layers of caramel, vanilla and cocoa with an amazingly smooth finish showing dried fruits and a hint of oak. This will definitely impress any Single Barrel Bourbon enthusiast!"

"Pour this single-barrel Bourbon some time in advance to allow it to open up and reveal crème caramel aromatics while you eye the rich topaz color in the glass. Sweet and smooth, this whiskey finishes with dry espresso, dark chocolate and black-tea notes. Mix into classic cocktails." (93 pts.)
WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2015 Complex and balanced, this go-to Bourbon features vanilla aromatics with a touch of fresh apple. On the palate, it’s light at first, showing vanilla and honey, and winds into deeper, rounded notes of cocoa and hazelnut. Splash in ginger ale for a highball and sip all night long.WHA8585 pts. - Whisky Advocate - Fall, 2014 Interesting that the label says “Artfully Aged,” yet there’s no actual age statement. Lively nose, good rye snap and spice, a bit of mint and oaky edge. Not hot, well-behaved on the tongue, and happily gives back everything taken on the nose. Sweet, spicy, and easy to like, this is whiskey without flaw, well-done and tasty, if not overly ambitious or challenging.
WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 9/1/2014 This addictive high-rye Bourbon, the first offering from the reincarnated Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, offers a pleasing caramel scent and dark, spicy flavors that evoke toffee and gingerbread, plus a citrusy tartness around the edges that leads into a mellower vanilla note.Premier SelectPremier Select wines are handpicked by our staff from amongst thousands of wines for their exceptional quality. WHA8989 pts. - Whisky Advocate - Winter, 2018 Fresh and delicate on the nose, with stone fruit — especially peaches — white pepper, orange Creamsicle, and spice. A generous oak backbone provides the foundation for plums, nectarines, black pepper, clove, chamomile tea, and piney cedar that sweeps into a dry oak, cocoa, iced-tea finish. Although a bit hot at times, the balance and array of flavors is an outstanding coup for this young distillery.
