    2017 / 750 ml. | Item#51123

    JS9090 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Friday, July 26, 2019
Another big wine with structure and a lot of new wood (too much), but it holds it together with the firm tannins and freshness. Full. Try after 2020.

  4. Evodia

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#52701

    JD9393 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - March 22, 2021
Based on 100% Garnacha, the 2019 Evodia is a killer value that delivers incredible Garnacha flair at a crazy good price. Kirsch, blackberry, acacia flower, violet, and sandalwood notes give way to a medium to full-bodied, seamless, beautifully layered wine with fabulous tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish. This is the finest wine at this price point in the world.
    RP90+90+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020
The 2019 Evodia is pure Garnacha from old head-pruned vines in the Sierra Santa Cruz in Calatayud. It fermented with around 20% full clusters in concrete and matured mostly in concrete with just 20% of the blend put in used oak barrels for three months. There is a component that matured in concrete egg that I was able to taste separately that seems to bring a touch of freshness to the final blend, something welcomed in a warm year like 2019, which seems like a fresher version of 2017, when the wines achieved quite good ripeness. The nose opens up nicely in the glass and is quite aromatic and floral, exuberant, with a heady touch of ripe fruit. It’s young and tasty, tender and pleasant to drink, with a forward personality. A real bargain. I hope there are more wines like this in Aragon, where the wealth of Garnacha vineyards would make it possible quite easily. 150,000 bottles produced. There are two batches per year. What I tasted had been bottled in February 2020, just a few days before I sampled it.

  5. Honoro Vera Garnacha

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#46925

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
Dark violet. Lively, spice-accented cherry and dark berry scents show very good clarity and a hint of smokiness. Juicy and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors that slowly flesh out with air. Closes long and precise, with fine-grained tannins lending final grip.
    RP8989 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Apr 2020
I tasted two vintages of each wine, the youngest of the entry-level Garnacha being the 2018 Honoro Vera Garnacha, from vines around the village of Ateca. It matured in oak for two months to keep its youth and fresh fruit. The wines from 2018 are slightly lighter and fresher and have textbook varietal aromas of berries and aromatic herbs and just a very subtle spicy touch. The palate is juicy and reveals very round tannins and a velvety texture. It’s pleasant and easy to drink. A very good value. 600,000 bottles produced.

This round red shows a core of plum and currant flavors, with smoky and light earthy notes. Features light tannins and firm acidity. A touch rustic, but balanced. Drink now through 2023. 25,000 cases made, 10,000 cases imported.

  6. The Curator Red

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#54398

    VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2021
The 2019 Curator, a blend of Shiraz, Cinsault and Mourvèdre matured in used barrels, has a lovely bouquet of mulberry, red plum, rooibos and light fennel aromas. The harmonious, expressive palate is medium-bodied with a dab of pepper on the entry, good weight and slightly tertiary red fruit toward the finish. This is a fine Red Blend with good persistence and plenty of personality.

    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
Vivid ruby-red. Aromas of ripe red and dark berries, spicecake and candied flowers are complemented by a smoky mineral nuance that builds in the glass. Sappy black raspberry and cherry flavors show good depth as well as energy. Silky and appealingly sweet, finishing with sharp focus and smooth tannins that fold into the wine’s juicy fruit. Raised in stainless steel and concrete tanks.

  12. Garnacha de Fuego

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#53296

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
Brilliant violet. Expressive cherry, blueberry and floral pastille aromas are complemented by suggestions of cola and licorice. Sweet, seamless and broad in the mouth, offering jammy black and blue fruit and spicecake flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Shows appealing sweetness and no rough edges on the long, juicy finish, which features repeating spiciness and a hint of florality.
    JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - October 21, 2020
All destemmed Grenache from the Calatayud region of Spain, the 2019 Garnacha De Fuego offers a deeper purple, almost opaque color to go with gorgeous wild strawberry and blueberry fruits intermixed with notes of candied orange and flowers. This beauty is medium-bodied, seamless, textured, and just impossible to resist. It sells for a song and way over-delivers. Enjoy bottles over the coming year or two, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see it keep even longer.

  14. Flaco Tempranillo

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#53871

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2021
Bright violet. Pungent cherry pit, cassis and licorice scents are sharpened by a peppery nuance. Chewy and focused on the palate, offering bitter cherry and dark berry flavors and a touch of espresso. Dusty tannins frame a long, nervy finish that echoes the cherry note. This is a pretty serious wine for its price category.
