    WE9191 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 7/1/2020
This is a rounded wine, with proper herbal flavors as well as ripe gooseberry and citrus. It is textured, mineral and still young. It will likely be at its best from 2021.

Some modern, meaty oak and spice, laid across ripe dark cherries and plums here. The palate has a very smooth and slick feel with a succulent, juicy and attractively fresh, dark-plum finish. Handy depth. Drink or hold.

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#51124

    JS9292 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, July 24, 2017
A big ripe wine with a touch of caramel alongside the big black plum note. A massively tannic but relatively plush wine that has a certain freshness. This ought to age well. Better from 2020.
    RP8787 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2017
There is a new red blend of Tempranillo with some 13% Cabernet Sauvignon called 2014 El Transformador, from grapes mostly from a plot that names the wine. The vines were planted in the 1970s on limestone soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts after a cold soak with dry ice, followed by ten months in second and third year French oak barrels. It showed very high ripeness and some volatility that made it a little blurry. The palate showed similar flavors and some dusty tannins. 8,000 bottles produced.

  4. Red Electric Interurban Pinot Noir

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#53792

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jun 2019
Glimmering red. Spice-accented red fruit and rose oil on the nose, along with notes of white pepper, allspice and musky earth. Juicy and focused in the mouth, offering bitter cherry and red berry flavors with a touch of medicinal bitterness. Turns sweeter with air and shows very good energy on the persistent finish, which is firmed by dusty, fine-grained tannins that fold smoothly into the wine’s fruit.

Very ripe and slightly raw oak over black fruit and coconut candy. The palate has dense, chewy fruit and really assertive tannins. Needs a year or two to settle in.

  6. Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#35998

    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2021
Concentrated and creamy but not overly showy, this wine is balanced, restrained and layered. It meshes an apple-tart flavor with subtle vanilla and nutmeg nuances while underlying acidity achieves excellent balance.
    VN8989 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2019 Chardonnay Vintner’s Reserve is very pretty and floral. Citrus, almond and dried flowers open nicely, followed by tropical notes that grace the finish. In 2019, the Vintner’s Reserve is a bit lighter than it typically is. Even so, it remains one of the greatest — if not the greatest — value in estate wine made in sufficient scale. It can be found pretty much anywhere.
    JD8888 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/22/2021
The larger production 2019 Chardonnay Vintners Reserve is a charmer, with clean citrus and melon fruits as well as a medium-bodied, nicely balanced, juicy, clean, and easy-drinking style on the palate. It’s another solid, well-made wine from this team.

    SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2007
A delicate, well-balanced Prosecco, showing a good blend of baked apple, sour lemon and grapefruit, with a lightly creamy mineral texture on the palate. Medium froth, with some body and a pleasant lemon and mineral finish. Drink now.
    BD8989 pts. - Beverage Dynamics - May/Jun 2011
Fresh citrus with hints of honey and white flowers on the nose; soft, light and delicate; delicious.
    WS8888 pts. - Wine & Spirits - August 1, 2013
Scents of dried grasses and sweet apples carry through this Prosecco. It lasts on nutty flavors, pleasantly balanced for sipping on the beach.
    WE8787 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 8/1/2012

Based on 74% Syrah and 26% Grenache brought up in in a combination of concrete tanks (for the Grenache) and one year old demi-muids (for the Syrah), the 2018 Cotes Du Roussillon Bastide Miraflors is a knockout bottle of wine. It’s one of the finest values out there.

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#52269

    RP90+90–92+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Apr 2019
The 2018 Marjosse is made up of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc with a splash of old Malbec. Big old barrels were used for 25% of the crop. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with a compelling nose of baking spices, raspberry pie, warm red and black currants, rose hip tea and fragrant earth with a waft of wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate is filled with fragrant red and black fruit, framed by great freshness and soft, supple tannins, finishing on a floral note.
    VN90+90–92 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2019
The 2018 Marjosse offers lovely black currant and raspberry aromas, fresh and vibrant in the glass; plum jam and black olive notes emerge with time. The palate is underpinned by fine tannins, good substance and a crisp, cedar-tinged finish that is a pure joy. A must-buy from Pierre Lurton’s home estate.

All Chardonnay brought up in used demi-muids, the 2019 La Colline Aux Fossiles sports a medium gold hue to go with terrific stone fruits, caramelized citrus, white flowers, and honeysuckle-like aroma and flavors as well as a beautiful sense of minerality that emerges with time in the glass. 12. Broadside Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#53492

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Dec 2020
Opaque ruby. Deep-pitched scents of ripe black/blue fruits, vanilla and succulent herbs. Plush and open-knit, offering smoke-tinged blackberry cherry, licorice and bitter chocolate flavors complemented by spicy oak tones. Fruit-driven and approachable, finishing with rounded tannins and a touch of cracked pepper.
    WE8888 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 4/1/2021
Blackberry, loamy soil, incense and roasted meat aromas show on the nose of this bottling. It lands on the palate with clean red fruit and sharp acidity, as waves of pine and smoke ride slightly chunky tannins into the finish.

  13. Daou Cabernet Sauvignon

    2017 / 375 ml. | Item#53833

    WE9393 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 10/1/2019
Aromas of black plum, black olive and violet lead into a texturally dynamic palate loaded with ripe but not overdone black currant, baking spice and vanilla flavors. Strong acidity drives the finish.
    VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Sep 2018
Deep bright-rimmed ruby. Intense cherry and red berry scents, along with hints of cracked pepper, pipe tobacco and vanilla. Juicy and focused on the palate, offering concentrated red currant, bitter cherry and spicecake flavors that deepen slowly and turn sweeter on the back half. Fine-grained tannins build on a long, spice-laced finish that leaves behind a suggestion of cherry compote. In the context of top-notch California Cabernets, this wine delivers remarkable value.
    RP90+90–92 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2018
Tasted from barrel, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is very promising, revealing a youthfully primary bouquet of currants and plums that’s already integrated its new oak. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, richly structured and generous, with a sun-kissed core of fruit and a dry, fine-grained finish. A cuvée that includes purchased fruit, this is typically a great value. I’m looking forward to seeing it from bottle.
    JD9090 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - November 29, 2018
Bottle two weeks ago, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon offers classic notes of blackcurrants, tobacco, licorice, and smoke herbs, and as with the Pessimist, it’s a whole lot of wine for not much buck.

  14. Château La Branne

    2016 / 750 ml. | Item#50453

    VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Oct 2018
The 2016 La Branne has a lovely, generous and pure bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and tobacco aromas that just burst from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, smooth in the mouth with a touch of white pepper and clove towards the quite complex finish. What a superb Médoc. Tasted at the Oenoconseil tasting room in Bordeaux.
