SP9191 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2018
A well-cut and lacy Champagne in an elegant, aperitif style, with hints of chalk and graphite underscoring the lively Honeycrisp apple, cherry and lemon curd flavors. Offers a sleek, minerally finish. Drink now through 2021.
WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2001
Red fruit character comes forward in the aroma and initial flavors, enriching the taste and filling out the smoky complexity. There’s a sweetness to that fruit balanced by a chalkiness, completely Champagne. Yellow Label is refined, super non-vintage Brut.
WS9090 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2006
A full-bodied Champagne, this has been enriched by reserve wines to add depth and smoky lees intensity to its brisk, youthful elements. It’s a satisfying Brut to serve with poached prawns.
WE9090 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2013
One of the most familiar of Champagnes, the Yellow Label is finely made — a fruity while structured wine. It has both fresh and fragrant fruit as well as richness, a soft, creamy texture and bright acidity. There is no sense in bottle aging here — drink this wine because of its crispness.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 30, 2022
A firm, fresh version, with the lively bead carrying flavors of white cherry, grilled nut, orange curd and smoke. Creamy finish. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Drink now. (Alison Napjus)

Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs

Extra Brut
2010 / 750 ml.

Item #: 59443

VN97+97+ pts. - Vinous - May 2022
The 2010 Dom Ruinart is truly epic. It’s also an eye-opening wine. And I do mean wine. Because the first impression is really of wine more than Champagne. The 2010 signals a major shift in philosophy, as Dom Ruinart is now aged entirely under cork (rather than crown seal) as it was back in the early 1960s. Lemon peel, white flowers, mint, crushed rocks and white pepper all race across the palate, announcing a Champagne of stature, breed and pure class. All the elements build as the 2010 crescendos into its intensely saline, mineral-drenched finish. The low dosage of 4 grams per liter is perfectly judged. I try to avoid the tired clichés that make comparisons with Burgundy, but it is impossible here. The best way I can describe the 2010 Dom Ruinart is that it tastes like a great Corton-Charlemagne with bubbles. Chef de Caves Frédéric Panaïotis has poured his heart and soul into Ruinart since arriving in 2007. He richly deserves all the accolades he will surely garner for this masterpiece, an achievement that is made all the more notable by the challenges of the growing season. The 2010 Dom Ruinart is unreal. That’s all there is to it. Disgorged: 2020. (Antonio Galloni)
SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2022
A mineral-driven Champagne, creamy and compact, this deftly meshes a layer of smoke, chalk and saline with detailed flavors of glazed apple and apricot, roasted hazelnut and ginger-infused pastry cream carried on a raw silky mousse. The fine texture softens the firm spine of chiseled acidity that structures the wine, and hints of white blossoms, Meyer lemon and oyster shell play on the finish. Disgorged November 2020. Drink now through 2035. (Alison Napjus)
WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
This is certainly a mature Champagne. With its ripe character, the dryness has softened to give richness, a beautiful nutty flavor while retaining acidity. A very fine Champagne, it is ready to drink now. (Roger Voss)
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2022
The first vintage since the 1960s to see tirage under natural cork in lieu of crown caps, the 2010 Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs was disgorged in November 2021. It’s showing nicely, over-performing for the vintage, displaying aromas of yellow orchard fruit, toasted nuts, spices, smoke, dried white flowers and iodine. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, with impressive concentration and chalky structure, it concludes with a long, saline finish. (William Kelley)
JS9494 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, August 8, 2022
Almost like a white, with a smoky and flinty nose. Dried lemons, cedar, smoked almonds, spiced apples, hazelnuts, salted butter and toast. Tangy and sharp, yet creamy and buttery, too, with fine bubbles. Hazelnuts at the end. Disgorged in February 2021. Drink or hold.

VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2022
The 2013 Brut Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is fabulous. Rich and remarkably pure, the 2013 is super-expressive right out of the gate. Bright saline notes cut through a core of lemon confit, dried flowers, apricot, tangerine peel, mint and sage. As compelling as the 2013 is, it really needs more time to open a bit. There is a feeling of transparency here that is so alluring. The 2013 is a terrific example of power with no excess weight in Champagne. I loved it. Disgorged: July 2021. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. (Antonio Galloni)
RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Mar 2022
The 2013 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill has turned out especially well, wafting from the glass with aromas of orange oil, confit lemon and crisp golden orchard fruit, complemented by subtle hints of brioche and clear honey. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and seamless, with a deep core of fruit, bright acids and a beautifully refined mousse, this is an elegant, penetrating rendition of Churchill that stands out for its charm and effortlessness. The 2009 Vintage is another stellar wine in this range from Billecart-Salmon. This is the first time the Vintage includes Meunier in the blend. That approach has worked out so well here. Resonant and generous, the 2009 is so expressive today. The low dosage of two grams per liter is expertly judged. The 2009 is rich, but not heavy, while offering all of the natural generosity of the year. (Antonio Galloni)

Piper-Heidsieck Rare

2008 / 750 ml.

Item #: 58987

SP9797 pts. - Wine Spectator - Dec 15, 2020
Like a stallion out of the gate, this shows an initial explosion of power, in the form of mouthwatering flavors and fine texture, before quickly settling into an elegant gait. The racy acidity is seamlessly knit, buoying the lacy mousse and flavors of cassis, toasted brioche and tangerine, with accents of candied ginger, hazelnut and fleur de sel lingering on the long, creamy finish. Drink now through 2035. 2,000 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)
JD9696 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 11/7/2022
The 2008 Champagne Rare is luxurious with aromas of graham cracker, honeysuckle, quince, and orange zest. It is round and opulent, with a fine and pillowy mousse, and retains freshness throughout, with apricot and yellow flowers. It is impressive and long, and fully luxurious. Drinking well now, it is sure to hold its own for years to come. Drink 2022–2044. (Audrey Frick)
RP93+93+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Aug 2022
The 2008 Brut Cuvée Rare, now re-baptized as “Rare Champagne,” continues to evolve at a glacial pace. Offering up aromas of citrus oil, freshly baked bread and wet stones, it’s medium to full-bodied, taut and incisive, with a tangy spine of acidity and a pretty pinpoint mousse, but much in the way of texture or amplitude has yet to emerge. While I continue to think that this has the makings of a very attractive bottling, continued patience is advised. (William Kelley)

Krug Rosé 26éme Édition

NV / 750 ml.

Item #: 58513

SP9696 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2021
A mouthwatering rosé that wraps a racy spine of acidity in the plushly creamy, cashmere-like mousse, offering a fine frame for the rich and finely meshed range of flavors, with baked raspberry, passion fruit and Mandarin orange peel fruit accented by chopped hazelnut, fleur de sel, candied ginger and lime blossom notes that echo for days on the vivid finish. Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Disgorged autumn 2019. Drink now through 2030.
WS9696 pts. - Wine & Spirits - December 1, 2013
The best bottle of Krug Rosé we’ve tasted in some time, this is a glorious pinot noir, cloud-like in its raspberry and forest floor scents. It follows a chalk line of flavor, seamless and linear while the wine rolls and tumbles in precisely choreographed length. Delicate pink heaven in a glass.
SP9595 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2018
Aromatic, with orchard blossom, ginger and kumquat hints, this vibrant rosé shows a beautiful marriage of intense acidity and flavor range, allowing notes of peach skin, blood orange granita, toasted coconut and Marcona almond to play and expand on the palate as they ride the lovely, lacy mousse. Offers a lasting, racy finish. Disgorged Spring 2016. Drink now through 2025.
ST9595 pts. - Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2000
Pale copper-orange. Extraordinary, Chambolle-like nose hints at wild strawberry, coconut, lanolin, nut skin and Christmas spices. Very fine mousse. Extremely rich but very dry, with complex but subtle flavors of strawberry, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and smoke. Bright, harmonious acidity. Very dry but clinging and penetrating on the aftertaste. Consistent with Krug’s other releases, this utterly singular Champagne is more wine than rosé.
VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2019
The NV Rosé 22ème Edition captures all the best of the Krug house style. Wonderfully fresh and vibrant, with a classic hint of reduction, the 22ème is simply pristine. The Krug Rosé has typically been a Champagne of freshness and tension. That is very much the case here. Readers should expect a crystalline, taut Rosé full of citrus, white flowers chalk and red berry fruit, all supported by veins of salivating minerality and acidity. This is such a compelling and alluring Rosé. This release is based on 2010, with reserve wines back to 2005, a relatively compact range of vintages. I loved it.

VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2018
Agrapart’s NV Brut 7 Crus is simply gorgeous. Rich, creamy and inviting, the 7 Crus hits all the right notes. The 7 Crus doesn’t quite have the focus or energy of the top wines here, but it is incredibly delicious, approachable and relatively easy to find. This may very well be the finest release of the 7 Crus I have ever tasted since this cuvée debuted a few years ago. The 7 Crus is 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. This release is equal parts 2015 and 2014. Don’t miss it! Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: May 2018. (Antonio Galloni)
VN8989 pts. - Vinous - May 2022
The NV Brut 7 Crus is a rich, deep Champagne that very much reflects the intense, ripe personalities of the 2019 and 2018 vintages. Dried pear, spice, dried flowers and chamomile shows notable depth in this resonant, expansive Champagne. The 7 Crus is attractive, but the vintages speak more than the Agrapart house style in this release. As a reminder, the 7 Crus emerge from a collection of Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages, 70% and 30% respectively. This release is equal parts 2019 and 2018, bottled with six grams of dosage. Disgorged: July, 2022. (Antonio Galloni)

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Les Chemins d’Avize

Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs
2014 / 750 ml.

Item #: 58117

RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st Jan 2022
Disgorged in June 2021, Larmandier-Bernier’s 2014 Extra-Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Les Chemins d’Avize is still tightly wound, unwinding in the glass with aromas of citrus oil, crisp yellow orchard fruit, almond paste, vanilla pod and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and complete, it’s deep and concentrated, with ripe but racy acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, concluding with a long, chalky finish. This is a more charming, immediate rendition of this cuvée than its 2013 predecessor, but it will still reward at least a few years on cork. (William Kelley)
VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2014 Extra Brut Les Chemins d’Avize Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is fabulous. Rich, ample and potent, the 2014 possesses tremendous density from start to finish. Apricot, spice, dried flowers, graphite and lemon confit all build in a Champagne of enormous resonance. The pedigree here is evident. Chemins d’Avize is a blend from the Chemin de Plivot and Chemin de Flavigny lieux-dits. It was vinified in neutral oak and bottled with dosage of two grams per liter. Disgorged: June, 2021. Krug Brut Champagne

2008 / 750 ml.

Item #: 58043

JS100100 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Thursday, February 3, 2022
This is very structured and framed with an almost red sensibility. Very phenolic. Full-bodied in a tightly wound ball with so much going on. Very pinot like. Mineral and stone. Shell and stone. Iodine. Vinous. The bubbles just fade into the finish of the wine, which goes on for minutes. Turns to toffee and salted caramel with time in the glass. One for the cellar. Great length. Blend of 53% pinot noir, 25% pinot meunier, 22% chardonnay. Disgorged in beginning of 2020. Drink or hold.
SP9999 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2021
There’s a supernova of sensation with each sip of this powerful version, starting with the vivid streak of mouthwatering acidity that drives a rich panoply of ripe black currant, mandarin orange peel and grilled nut flavors, accented by hints of candied ginger, briny oyster shell, verbena and ground cardamom. This burns bright from start to finish, yet its fine integration and lovely, raw silk–like mousse pull it all together into a seamless, vibrant package. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. Disgorged autumn 2019. Drink now through 2038. (Alison Napjus)
VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Nov 2021
The 2008 Vintage is a nervy, electrifying Champagne, the likes of which has not emerged from Krug’s cellars since the magical l1996. Bright and sculpted, with tremendous precision, the 2008 dazzles from start to finish. Stylistically, the 2008 doesn’t have the toastiness or explosive breadth often found in young Krug, but that in no way detracts from its magnificent beauty. Krug ID: 419044. (Antonio Galloni)
WE9797 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/1/2021
A vintage Champagne from this producer is rare. But 2008 was a great year in Champagne and that shows in this intense, still amazingly young wine. Freshness works with the richness to give concentration, density and the sure-fire possibility of long-term aging. So drink now, but the Champagne will last for many years.
RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Sep 2021
Krug’s 2008 Brut is slated to be released at the end of 2021, but any readers who purchase the wine will need to exercise considerably more patience if they are to enjoy it in its prime, as it is very tightly wound out of the gates. Unwinding in the glass with a youthfully discreet bouquet of clear honey, dried fruit, walnut oil, Meyer lemon and rock salt, it’s medium to full-bodied, deep and incisive, with a racy spine of acidity, a pretty pinpoint mousse and a penetrating, saline finish. The polar stylistic opposite of the rich, demonstrative 2006, the 2008 is a rather understated, taut vintage from Krug that isn’t as liberally endowed with the house’s characteristic toasty patina as its immediate predecessor.

Louis Roederer Cristal

2014 / 750 ml.

Item #: 57744

SP9898 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2022
This vivid Champagne shows up-front and linear definition, thanks to rapierlike acidity, with finely meshed flavors of ripe black cherry and mandarin orange fruit, raw almond, anise and cardamom spice as well as a touch of honeycomb, which all unfurl and expand on the fine, creamy palate. Sleek acidity continues through to the finish, with additional racy character provided by a streak of minerally saline and chalk, which gains momentum through the midpalate and rings out on the well-cut, lasting finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2040. 9,181 cases imported. (Alison Napjus)
VN9898 pts. - Vinous - Feb 2022
The 2014 Cristal is another in a long line of gorgeous wines from Roederer and long-time Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon. A dazzling, vibrant Champagne, the 2014 impresses with a stunning combination of fruit density and linear energy that brings to mind a hypothetical blend of 2012 and 2008. At times, the bubbles feel totally wrapped up in waves of creamy, resonant fruit to the point the mousse is barely perceptible, especially with aeration. The flavors are bright and finely sculpted, leaning very much into the citrus, floral and mineral end of the spectrum.
RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 2nd Feb 2022
The 2014 Cristal is a terrific effort that transcends the vintage. Bursting from the glass with expressive aromas of ripe citrus fruit, nectarine, white flowers, freshly baked bread and subtle hints of honeycomb, it’s medium to full-bodied, vinous and fleshy, with an exuberant core of fruit that’s girdled by racy acids, resulting in a wine that’s simultaneously chiseled and demonstrative, meaning that early appeal doesn’t come at the expense of the requisite tension for long-term cellaring. Concluding with a long, aromatic and intensely chalky finish, it is a brilliant Champagne that will offer a broad drinking window. This bottle was disgorged in June 2021 with seven grams per liter dosage.

Champagne Louis Roederer Rosé Vintage

Item #: 57689

RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 23rd Sep 2021
The 2015 Brut Vintage Rosé is generous and demonstrative, bursting with aromas of peach, orange and pear mingled with hints of red berries, fresh bread and ginger. Full-bodied, layered and vinous, it’s rich and enveloping, its textural attack segueing into an ample, fleshy core that’s girdled by bright acids and enlivened by a pillowy mousse. Long and expansive, it’s more generous and gourmand than its racier 2014 predecessor, but just as good.
SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Nov 15, 2021
Pure and pretty notes of wild strawberry and nectarine fruit are enriched by hints of marzipan, chalk and pickled ginger in this graceful rosé Champagne. Lithe and expressive, with a fine, lively mousse, this shows lovely balance and a creamy, mineral-laced finish. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2031. 1,054 cases imported.
