A lovely, 100% varietal wine aged 20 months in French oak, this is juicy, herbal and offers a substantial foundation of power. Cedar, tobacco and tomato leaf accent a core of crushed rock, dark plum and threads of acidity—the weight and structure lifted by underlying freshness. Enjoy from 2028–2038. (Virginie Boone)

DuMol’s 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is such a gorgeous wine, especially in its peer group. Vibrant and nuanced to the core, the 2018 is endowed with tremendous class. Dark fruit, chocolate, lavender, spice and grilled herbs give this expressive, vibrant Cabernet so much detail. (Antonio Galloni)

Just about pure perfection in a glass, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as 100% varietal sourced from top sites including Dr. Crane, Las Piedras, Weitz, Oakville Ranch, and Vine Hill. This deep purple/blue-hued beauty boasts a stunning bouquet of pure crème de cassis and blackberry fruits as well as complex forest floor, graphite, chocolate, and spicy oak. Full-bodied, rich, sexy, yet incredibly elegant and seamless on the palate, this is pure Napa Valley magic that has appeal even today yet the class to evolve for 30 years in cold cellars. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jan 2021
Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of each of the single-vineyard wine sites (Dr. Crane, Las Piedras and Vine Hill Ranch), plus fruit from Oakville Ranch and Weitz vineyards. It was aged for 22 months in French oak, 100% new. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the gate with energetic scents of warm cassis, blackberry pie, boysenberries and wild blueberries plus hints of mocha, black truffles, fertile loam and lavender, with a waft of Chinese five spice. Full-bodied, rich, concentrated and decadent with a velvety texture and fantastic freshness, it finishes long and layered. 1,100 cases were made.

RP93+93–95 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Nov 2019
A barrel sample, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon features a deep garnet-purple, singing on the nose of freshly crushed black cherries, black berry pie and warm plums over a core of cassis and pencil lead plus nuances of violets, cinnamon stick and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating, crunchy black fruit with a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy.
VN90+90–93 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2020
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is bold, pungent and savory. Black olives, grilled herbs, blackberry jam, cloves, iron and leather as well as intense barbeque smoke give the broad 2018 a wild, really exotic character. If I had tasted it blind, I would have pegged it as Syrah. The is an undeniably wild and unusual wine; I am not really sure what to make of it at this stage. It is also a rare vintage that is pure 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.

A pure, balanced and fresh Napa cabernet that is not just showing heady concentration and dark fruit. Here you get some violets, nimble flowers, redcurrants, graphite and fine spices. Some oranges, too. Fragrant and nuanced. Medium to full body with tight yet refined tannins. Rather linear, tense and elegant, but lacking neither power nor definition. Better to give it a few years to deliver more complexity. (James Suckling)
WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2022
Deep black-currant and blackberry flavors come with a warm, rounded texture bolstered by fine-grained tannins in this concentrated and mouth-filling wine. Hints of mint and dark chocolate enhance the aroma and continue through the finish. Best 2025–2035. (Jim Gordon)
JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
Lots of ripe blue fruits, sappy herbs, and some background minerality as well as a touch of oak emerge from the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon, a medium-bodied, beautifully balanced, elegant Cabernet from this estate that’s drinkable today yet will evolve for 15–20 years in cold cellars. It’s one for the old school Cabernet lovers out there. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon The Leap is blended of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it starts off a little closed and broody, giving way to notes of plum preserves, blackcurrant cordial and chocolate-covered cherries, plus hints of unsmoked cigars and black truffles. Medium-bodied, elegant and refreshing, it has lots of tightly wound black fruit and earthy layers with a firm, fine-grained frame and long mineral-laced finish.

Spicy, high-toned and strong in tannin, this is an impressive wine in its youth that will only get better. Cardamon, rose petal, black tea and tree bark give it a savory edginess that appeals and adds to the overall complexity and measured weight, finishing bright and fresh. Enjoy best 2030–2035. The 2020 Pinot Noir Wester Reach is one of Dumol’s larger cuvées, and production was normal despite the challenges of the vintage (3,750 cases). It has alluring purity on the nose, with scents of cranberries, rhubarb, tobacco leaves, orange peel and aniseed. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated and powerful without losing detail, framed by powdery tannins and refreshing acidity. It offers an array of spice and floral accents on the finish. Lovely!
