Figgins Estate Red Wine 2019 / 750 ml.

2019 / 750 ml.

Item #: 61881

JD9797 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/9/2022
The 2019 Red Wine comes from the estate vineyard outside of Walla Walla and is based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Merlot, all aged 22 months in new and once-used French oak. Its saturated purple color is followed by a gorgeous bouquet of cassis and blueberries fruit as well as spicy oak, tobacco, and scorched earth-like minerality. Full-bodied on the palate, it’s supple and forward at first yet builds on the palate, with more density and tannins showing on the finish. The purity is spot on, as is the balance, and it’s another beautiful wine that warrants 2–4 years of bottle age and will have 20 years of overall longevity. It’s one of the top releases in the vintage. There are 1,617 cases produced. (Jeb Dunnuck)

Dark masses of black raspberries, currants, crushed ashen stone and hints of dusty spice box waft up from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley. It’s supremely elegant, with vibrant acids, enlivening the tart wild berry fruits within. This tapers off structured with grippy tannins, and a core of primary concentration that will promise a long and steady elevation. (Eric Guido)
JD9191 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 7/9/2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla Valley is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a mix of seven different vineyards and it’s always a good value. Its deep purple color is followed by a ripe, opulent, full-bodied Cabernet with lots of plum and darker berry fruits, notes of chocolate, roasted herbs, and oak, ripe yet mouthcoating tannins, and a great finish. While it doesn’t have the elegance of the top cuvées, it brings ample fruit and texture, and should keep for 10–12 years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Web only – 2023
A dynamic Cabernet that shows polish and tension, along with expressive blackberry, mocha, espresso and dusky spices that drive toward medium-grained tannins. Drink now through 2032. 473 cases made. (Tim Fish)
VN9292 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon grumbles up from the glass with a darkly alluring mix of black currants, crushed ashen stone and hints of mocha. This soothes with silken waves of mineral-tinged dark red fruit and sweet spice as grippy tannins slowly mount toward the close. While structured and leaving the palate saturated in primary concentration, the 2019 maintains a wonderfully energetic feel as nuances of dried black cherry and tobacco slowly fade. Give this a few years of cellaring to allow its oak to integrate and then drink heartily over the next decade. (Eric Guido)
