Patria Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 / 750 ml.

Item#: 55628

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a stunning wine. Dark, virile and imposing, the 2019 packs so much energy and complexity into its mid-weight frame. Generous dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add layers of dimension. The 2019 is hugely promising. I can’t wait to taste it from bottle next year.
JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 12/21/2021
I loved all these latest releases from Patria. Starting with the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch, which might be the best Napa Cabernet under $100, it has terrific red and black fruits as well as notes of crushed stone, herbes de Provence, spice, and violets. Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and already impossible to resist, it’s ideal for drinking any time over the coming 15 years or so. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2021
Composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is jumping with exuberant scent of crushed blackberries, warm cassis and redcurrant jelly, plus hints of roses, wild sage and tilled soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has fantastic tension and finely grained tannins supporting the multi-layered black and red fruit flavors, finishing beautifully perfumed. 600 cases were made. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

RP9191 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
Reasonably priced for a Napa Cab, Snowden’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch boasts aromas of cedar and cherries, plus delicate thyme and sage notes. It’s medium to full-bodied, plush and easy to drink, smooth and supple across the palate and silky on the finish. (Joe Czerwinski)
VN9191 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is elegant and nuanced, with the transparency that is typical of many of the 2019s here. This is a decidedly old-school leaning Cabernet that leans towards the more delicate end of the spectrum. (Antonio Galloni)

Fortunate Son The Diplomat 2019 / 750 ml.

2019 / 750 ml.

Item #: 61454

RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 4th May 2023
Riper and substantially more expressive than the 2018, Fortunate Son’s 2019 Red Wine The Diplomat is a plush, luscious wine, laden with black cherries, mocha and loam notes. It’s full-bodied, rich, velvety and supple, with a lingering finish. Like the previous vintage, it’s mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, with a fair whack of Merlot. (Joe Czerwinski)
JD9494 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 2/16/2023
The Merlot-dominated 2019 The Diplomat comes from a handful of sites and would give a great Pomerol a run for its money with its darker red and black fruits, smoky herbs, and earthy goodness on the nose. These carry to a full-bodied, rounded, opulent 2019 with sweet, building tannins and a great finish. Give it a few years. (Jeb Dunnuck)

RP9898 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Dec 2022
The 2019 Patrimony Cabernet Sauvignon was made with free-run juice and matured for 30 months in 100% new French oak. It has a deep ruby color and alluring tones of truffle, brown sugar and coffee to begin, opening with time to very pure cassis, boysenberry, tobacco, garrigue and aniseed. The palate is supple and fresh with surprisingly restrained, mineral-laced fruits and a fan of spicy accents across the long finish. This ultra sleek, elegant Cabernet evolves continually in the glass and has the harmonious structure it needs to go the distance in the cellar. (Erin Brooks)
JD97+97–99 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 9/30/2021
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon continues to show brilliantly. (I rated it 97–100 from barrel last year.) It has a quintessential Cabernet nose of pure crème de cassis, crushed stone, lead pencil, graphite, and tobacco that gains depth and richness with time in the glass. Deep, full-bodied, rich, and incredibly textured, yet still fresh, light on its feet, and beautifully balanced, this gorgeous Cabernet shows what’s possible with the variety from Paso Robles. (Jeb Dunnuck)
VN9797 pts. - Vinous - Mar 2023
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Patrimony lifts from the glass with a classic bouquet of black currant, lifting hints of rosemary, graphite and dusty sage. It’s silky, nearly creamy in feel, with depths of ripe dark red fruit and sweet spice that swirl throughout. A web of fine-grained tannins engulfs the palate. While powerful and structured, the impact is well-measured, leaving the senses clenched in youthful poise as pretty inner florals slowly fade. What a beauty, and with such an amazingly bright future. (Eric Guido)
RP95+95–97 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 15th Mar 2022
The 2019 Patrimony is fresh and minerally at this stage. Still in barrel, it’s made entirely of free-run Cabernet Sauvignon and will be aged for 30 months in 100% new French oak. Deep ruby-purple, it’s scented of blueberry liqueur, thyme, mint chocolate and dried herbs with savory wafts of soy sauce. The full-bodied palate is grainy and fresh, with a long, spicy finish. It has the detail and balance to allow it to pick up complexity as it continues along its evolution toward bottling. (Erin Brooks)
JS9595 pts. - JamesSuckling.com - Monday, November 7, 2022
Deep, rich and plush on the nose showing cassis, blackberries with hints of dark olives, fennel, dark chocolate, cigar box and elderberry characters. Full-bodied and fleshy on the palate with an abundance of tannins, which are extremely fine-grained. Restrainedly opulent, deep, structured and long. Still a hint of white sesame character from the barrels, but will integrate in a year or two. Drinkable but better after 2025. (James Suckling)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a big wine, but it is also surprisingly approachable for a young Kongsgaard Cabernet. Bright and vibrant, the 2019 offers up copious dark red/purplish fruit, mocha, wild flowers and pomegranate, with a firm spine of tannin that gives the wine its energy and shape. The 2019 will be positively stellar with a bit of time in the cellar. Actually, it already is.

VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a huge, opulent wine. A blast of inky dark fruit, chocolate, spice, plum and menthol gives the 2019 its racy, extroverted personality. The Estate is a typical wine from Cade that balances Howell Mountain intensity with plenty of Napa Valley lushness. The 2019 is sure to be a crowd pleaser. (Antonio Galloni)
JD9595 pts. - Jeb Dunnuck - 5/4/2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is even better, with a stunning nose of black and blue fruits as well as iron, black olive tapenade, and subtle herbal nuances. Pure 2019 goodness on the palate, it’s full-bodied, has ripe, polished tannins, a great mid-palate, and one heck of a finish. It’s not for those looking for old school Claret, but it brings beautiful richness and depth and will shine for at least 10–12 years as well. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP94+94+ pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 30th Nov 2021
The 2019 Cade Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is blended of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it charges out of the glass with vibrant black cherry preserves, wild blueberries and mulberries scents, giving way to a core of cassis and star anise plus a waft of chocolate box. Full-bodied, concentrated and packed with bright black fruits, it has a fine-grained texture and long, energetic finish. (Lisa Perrotti-Brown)
SP9393 pts. - Wine Spectator - Apr 30, 2023
This is packed with steeped plum and blackberry fruit paste notes mixed with tar, roasted apple wood and warm earth. A racy savory stripe is nicely buried through the finish, where a violet echo lingers. Best from 2024 through 2036. 14,670 cases made. (James Molesworth)

There are not many better Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon blends out there than the 2021 Avoyelles Oakville, which checks in as 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Petit Verdot, most of which was co-fermented. Absolutely brilliant any way you look at it, it offers a stunning array of cassis, blueberries, graphite, chocolate, and spring flowers on the nose. These carry to a full-bodied, ultra-fine, balanced, polished 2021 that’s going to flirt with perfection on release. There’s not much of this to go around, so don’t miss a chance to buy a bottle if you’re given the opportunity. (Jeb Dunnuck)

The inky purple/blue-tinged 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard is more focused and tight, with pure aromatics of blue fruits, chocolate, graphite, and iron. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the structured, concentrated, age-worthy style of the vintage and is a seriously good wine in the making. It’s going to demand bottle age, however.
