Patria Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 / 750 ml.

Item#: 55628

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a stunning wine. Dark, virile and imposing, the 2019 packs so much energy and complexity into its mid-weight frame. Generous dollops of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot add layers of dimension. The 2019 is hugely promising. I can’t wait to taste it from bottle next year.

I loved all these latest releases from Patria. Starting with the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch, which might be the best Napa Cabernet under $100, it has terrific red and black fruits as well as notes of crushed stone, herbes de Provence, spice, and violets. Rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and already impossible to resist, it’s ideal for drinking any time over the coming 15 years or so. (Jeb Dunnuck)
RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 29th Oct 2021
Composed of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the deep garnet-purple colored 2019 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is jumping with exuberant scent of crushed blackberries, warm cassis and redcurrant jelly, plus hints of roses, wild sage and tilled soil. The medium to full-bodied palate has fantastic tension and finely grained tannins supporting the multi-layered black and red fruit flavors, finishing beautifully perfumed. 600 cases were made. When it comes to US wine production, California is King. California wines account for almost 90% of all wines produced in the United States each year, and is home to the most celebrated vineyards and producers in the country. California is probably best known for its world-famous Cabernets and Chardonnays, many of which hail from its two most-acclaimed AVAs, Napa Valley and Sonoma County. Other prominent grapes used in California wines include Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfandel (which California made popular).

A delicious, savory cabernet with aromas and flavors of dried flowers and cherries. Medium body with round, creamy tannins. Savory and flavorful. Supple. Real cabernet character. Delicious now.
RP8787 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 31st May 2022
With 180,000 cases produced and a price tag under $25 (savvy shoppers will be able to find it under $20), consumers shouldn’t overlook Martini’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County, which comes largely from the Gallo-owned properties of Frei Ranch (39%) and Barrel Creek (34%). It offers up bright cassis notes on the nose, plus hints of boysenberry and cherry, while the medium to full-bodied palate is silky and softly dusty on the finish. While it’s less rich and complex than many more expensive Cabernets from Napa and Sonoma, it’s a solid, fruit-forward wine that most readers should find affordable. (Joe Czerwinski)

A very aromatic red, offering baking spices, such as cinnamon, cloves and anisette, as well as notes of ripe blackcurrants, plums and dark chocolate. Full-bodied with soft tannins and a ripe yet vibrant and juicy fruit core. Long, warming finish. Drinkable now, but better in a few years.
SP9090 pts. - Wine Spectator - Oct 31, 2022
Ripe and caressing in feel, with cassis and plum paste mixed with toasted vanilla and sweet tobacco. A subtle cedar twinge adds range on the generous finish. Drink now through 2028. 26,100 cases made. (James Molesworth)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Iron Corral Estate is rock-solid, with a rich, velvety, medium to full-bodied profile that’s very much in the style of the vintage. Nicely balanced, with lot of redcurrants, spiced plum, cedary incense, and tobacco, it has outstanding balance as well as length on the palate. It’s well worth seeking out. (Jeb Dunnuck)
SP9292 pts. - Wine Spectator - Mar 31, 2022
Fresh and direct, with cassis, raspberry and red licorice notes enlivened by a hint of bramble and touch of applewood on the finish. Drink now through 2032. 5,004 cases made.

Delicate herbal shadings accent the cassis notes on the nose of Corison’s 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s classic Corison, balanced and concentrated without being showy or weighty, silky in feel, with a long, lingering finish and two decades of ageability. (Joe Czerwinski)
VN9393 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2022
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is full of charm. It offers all of the natural intensity of the year, with bright acids that keep the flavors bright. Sweet red cherry, plum, cedar, tobacco and spice all build effortlessly. This open-knit yet classically built Cabernet is likely to offer a wide window of drinkability over the next 15–20 years. As always, Cathy Corison’s Napa Valley Cabernet is a blend of three sites in St. Helena. (Antonio Galloni)
