Zinfandel wine is one of the truly "American" wine sensations in the marketplace. Nowhere else in the world is the Zinfandel grape grown so extensively and with such success. And to narrow it down even further, the Zinfandel grape, which makes both Red Zinfandel and White Zinfandel wines, is grown primarily in California.

Red Zinfandel wine is typically bold in flavor, with a rich, lush texture, and typically high alcohol content. Among other things, Zinfandel pairs perfectly with barbecue (another American tradition).

You'll find a fantastic selection of Zinfandels to choose from here at WineMadeEasy.com!

    2014 / 750 ml. | Item#52504

    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 28th Feb 2017
Deep garnet in color, the 2014 Zinfandel Fighting Brothers offers an abundance of black fruit preserves and blueberry pie notes plus underlying spice cake, incense and chocolate box hints. The richly fruited, full-bodied palate is packed with dried berries and spice layers, framed by velvety tannins and much needed freshness, which contributes a lively lift to the weighty finish.

  9. Bedrock Bedrock Vineyard Heritage

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#54425

    SP9494 pts. - Wine Spectator - Jun 30, 2021
Bold aromas of rose petal and orange blossom open to dynamic blackberry, licorice and smoked pepper flavors, building tension toward medium-grained tannins. Zinfandel, Carignan and Mataro. Drink now through 2030. 750 cases made.

Coming from a site that was originally planted in the 1850s (the vines for this release date back to the 1890s), the 2019 The Bedrock Heritage offers a medium ruby/plum color as well as a beautifully complex nose of cherries, red plums, lavender, herbes de Provence, and pepper. Quite structured and tannic, it’s medium-bodied, has a rounded, layered texture, good acidity, and outstanding length. It’s a beautiful, complex, elegant wine that needs 2–3 years of bottle age and should have 10–12 years of prime drinking.

  10. Marietta Old Vine Red

    Lot Number 71 / 750 ml. | Item#53878

    RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 3rd Jun 2021
Deep ruby-purple in color, the NV Old Vine Red Lot 71 has bright black cherry on the nose, with accents of fresh tobacco leaves, woodsmoke iron and potpourri. Medium-bodied, grainy and fresh, it has spicy, mineral-laced fruit and a long, lifted finish. I love this wine for its full flavor, juicy appeal and sensitive price point.

  12. Martinelli “Giuseppe & Luisa” Zinfandel

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#52059

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Apr 2020
The 2018 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa is, in my view, once again the most distinctive Zinfandel in this range. Bright acids, floral overtones and chiseled red fruit scream with Russian River character. Medium in body, gracious and beautifully perfumed, the Giuseppe & Luisa is flat-out gorgeous. I loved it.

  14. Masseria Li Veli Orion

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#53089

    VN8888 pts. - Vinous - Jul 2021
Purple-toned florals, blackberries, sage and hints of wet stone lift up from the 2019 Primitivo Orion. This is a soft and pliant effort, presenting a savory fruit profile and salty minerals that add tension toward the close. It tapers off with medium length to a buzz of residual acids and hints of sour citrus.

  15. Robert Biale Vineyards Black Chicken Zinfandel

    2018 / 750 ml. | Item#52058

    VN9595 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2021
The 2018 Zinfandel Black Chicken is dense and explosive in the glass. Inky dark fruit, chocolate, cloves, new leather, licorice and earthy notes abound. This is an especially potent, brooding Zinfandel, with all of its elements in total harmony. Drink it over the next 10–20 years.
    WE9494 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 12/31/2020
The producer’s marquee wine and a nod to its long-standing ties to farming, this is fresh and earthy in notes of crushed rock, slate, dried herb and black pepper. The fruit is layered and sumptuous in flavors of raspberry and black cherry, while supple tannins and a hint of toasted oak provide framing.
