Hartford Court Four Hearts Vineyards Chardonnay 2020 / 750 ml.

Item#: 60289

RP9494 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jul 2022
The 2020 Chardonnay Four Hearts Vineyard comes mostly from 45-year-old Wente vines in the Laguna Ridge neighborhood of the Russian River Valley. It was barrel fermented and matured for 11 months in 35% new French oak. It has a beautiful perfume of jasmine, white peaches, ginger and roasted almonds, plus touches of lemon cream and baking spice in the undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate surprises with its combination of intense fruits and focused, tangy acidity. It has a satiny texture, streaks of flinty character and a very long, layered finish. 1,484 cases were produced. (Erin Brooks)
VN9090 pts. - Vinous - Jan 2023
The 2020 Chardonnay Four Hearts is a blend taken from several old vine sites in the Russian River Valley. It offers terrific depth for the year married to vibrant energy. Spice, mint, candied ginger, crushed rocks and citrus confit build nicely in this nervy yet mid-weight Chardonnay. (Antonio Galloni)

Nectarine, brisk lime and honeysuckle aromas show on the nose of this bottling. There’s a lively citrus kick to the tip of the sip, and then come richer waves of pear, peach and browned butter. (Matt Kettmann)

The 2020 Chardonnay Chloe is rich with aromas of mineral-rich earth, pine resin, Meyer lemon. and yellow apple. The palate is fleshy, with orange oil, a touch of savory richness, and stony mouthfeel. It is appealing and open now, but it will certainly hold on for 10 or more years. (Audrey Frick)
RP9696 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 14th Jul 2022
The 2020 Chardonnay Chloe, from the El Diablo Vineyard and Lorenzo Vineyard, offers an incredible combination of concentrated flavors and energetic acidity. It has intense aromas of apricot and quince with nuances of elderflower, brioche, cashews and honey, pleasing, flinty reduction and classy new oak spices. The full-bodied palate explodes with layers of ripe fruits supported by a satiny texture and focused acidity, and it has a dynamic finish that segues from stone fruits to flowers and spicy accents. Wow! About 1,000 cases were made. (Erin Brooks)
