Riesling wine is often associated with Germany, where it's very popular and where it first earned its keep, but there are also great Rieslings coming out of other cool-climate growing regions like New York's Finger Lakes, Oregon, Washington, Canada, and the like. Regardless of where it comes from, though, there's no denying that Riesling is a fantastic white wine grape.

While Riesling is most often associated with sweetness, dry riesling wines are plentiful and the most coveted. Sweetness is generally determined by when the grape was harvested - the first grapes harvested (labeled Kabinett in Germany) are the driest and the latter harvests tend to produce sweeter wines.

No matter what you're looking for, you'll find the perfect Riesling wine right here at WineMadeEasy.com!

Kudos to Gallo for letting people know this wine is sweet. That avoids a lot of confusion. The honey, tangerine and peach flavors are balanced with lots of zesty acidity. Delightful, and a great bargain.

    2013 / 750 ml. | Item#39725

    WE9595 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 6/1/2015
Blossomy pink-grapefruit perfume bursts from this fruity, floral, complex auslese. While lip-smackingly sweet with flavors of red berries and hibiscus nectar, it’s grounded with a backdrop of acidity and steely minerality that resonates long through the finish.
    RP9393 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 27th Feb 2015
Under-ripe herbal and green apple flavors on the cool nose of the 2013 Zeltlinger Sonnenuhr Auslese intermix with stony, gravelly as well as lemon aromas. Sweet and well concentrated on the palate but piquant and provided with green apple flavors the 7.5% Auslese from 2013 is much less juicy and lush than in 2012 but very stimulating and mouth-cleaning. This will always be a quaffable drinking wine with a firm structure. (AP #1314)

  11. Dr. Konstantin Frank Semi-Dry Riesling

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#31526

    RP9090 pts. - Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate - 8th Oct 2020
The 2019 Semi-Dry Riesling comes in with 11.5% alcohol, 22 grams per liter of residual sugar and seven grams of total acidity. Not quite as aggressive as the Dry Riesling, this nonetheless shows off its nice acidity early and often. Focused, precise and pure, it has fine balance. At this price level, this (like its sibling) is a no-brainer purchase. The Dry Riesling has a lot more energy, while this is predictably lusher. Reasonable minds and personal preferences might differ as to which is better. I’d give the nod to the Dry Riesling just now, but it might depend on my mood and how I would use it.

  12. Standing Stone Vineyards Riesling

    2019 / 750 ml. | Item#30510

    WE9292 pts. - Wine Enthusiast - 8/1/2020
Under the leadership of the Hermann J. Wiemer team, this entry-level, off-dry Riesling is an outstanding success. A boisterous, perfumed nose yields aromas of citrus blossoms, pomelo, lemon oil, tangerine and fresh yellow apple. The juicy palate gives way to ripples of juicy pear, apple and pineapple flavors, lifted by a persistent vein of orange-laden acidity. It’s impeccably balanced and incredibly concentrated and fresh, with a gentle stoniness riding underneath it all. While enjoyable now, it has the structure and fruit to hold well through 2030.
